Ellis Music's Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak

To help combat the spread of COVID-19 in accordance with CDC and VT Department of Health guidelines, the Ellis Music storefront is presently open to the public by appointment only.

If you want to rent an instrument...

Please use Ellis Music’s convenient online rental system. Your options for getting the instrument include free delivery to your school in Vermont or New Hampshire, curbside pickup at Ellis Music's storefront, or shipping directly to your home via UPS. (There is a charge for shipping via UPS, which is displayed during the instrument rental process.)

If you want to return an instrument that you are currently renting...

The instrument can be dropped off curbside (by appointment) or shipped back to Ellis Music. Returning the instrument via your local school may be an option when school is in session, but you will need to check with your school. Please refer to our instrument rental return instructions for more information.

If you need supplies or music for your instrument...

Almost everything that Ellis Music has in stock can be purchased through the website. Most items can be shipped to you for a flat rate of $5. Browse our products using the 'Shop Online' link from the top menu, or use the search bar to look for a specific item.

If your instrument needs repair...

In many cases, the instrument can be picked up by an Ellis representative at Vermont and New Hampshire schools we visit regularly. Other options include shipping the instrument to Ellis Music (see Shipping Instructions) or making an appointment to drop off the instrument curbside. If you want to make arrangements to drop off an instrument, please use the contact form to send us an email or call the store. We are quarantining incoming instruments for a period of time before handling them.

If you want to shop for an intermediate or pro model instrument...

We are limiting instrument trial appointments to one-at-a-time. A pre-scheduled appointment is required. You can schedule an appointment by phone. Please be sure to review our store guidelines prior to visiting.

As with other businesses, we will be periodically re-assessing our policies and practices as new developments occur.

The National Federation of State High School Associations has published a document providing guidance on how to clean musical instruments with COVID-19 in mind.
