Ellis Music's Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak

In response to the Vermont governor's "stay at home" order, issued March 25, 2020, the store is presently closed to the public .

To help combat the spread of COVID-19 in accordance with CDC and VT Department of Health guidelines, the Ellis Music storefront is presently closed to the public. However, we remain open for business and are committed to serving your musical needs. Here is how we can be of assistance at the present time:

If you want to rent an instrument...
Please use Ellis Music’s convenient online rental system. The instrument will be shipped directly to your home via UPS at no extra cost to you. If we are unable for some reason to ship the instrument, someone will be in touch with you to make alternative arrangements.

If you want to return an instrument that you are currently renting...
Please refer to our instrument rental return instructions.

If you need supplies or music for your instrument...
Almost everything that Ellis Music has in stock can be purchased through the website. In lieu of our stellar school delivery service, we are currently offering free shipping for web orders to our customers in Vermont or New Hampshire. Browse our products using the 'Shop' link, or use the search bar to look for a specific item.

If your instrument needs repair...
Either you will need to ship the instrument to Ellis Music (Shipping Instructions) or make an appointment to drop off the instrument curbside at Ellis Music. If you want to make arrangements to drop off an instrument, please use the contact form to send us an email and then wait for a response.

If you currently have an instrument at Ellis Music to be repaired...
Someone will contact you once the instrument repairs are complete and the instrument is ready to be returned to you. The instrument will be shipped directly to your home -- or workplace, if you prefer -- via UPS at no extra cost to you. If you currently have a loaner instrument, we would ask that you ship the loaner back to Ellis Music. (Shipping Instructions)

As with other businesses, we will be periodically re-assessing our policies and practices as new developments occur.

The National Federation of State High School Associations has published a document providing guidance on how to clean musical instruments with COVID-19 in mind.
