Clarflupet Wind Embouchure Trainer

The Clarflupet™ is a unique instrument that replicates the sound production methods of a clarinet, a flute, and a trumpet. One end has a built-in clarinet mouthpiece and ligature. The other end is shaped like a trumpet mouthpiece. A hole cut out of the side can be blown across to simulate a flute. Each of the three sound production methods can create at least two different pitches.

The Clarflupet™ has many potential uses. It can introduce young students to the wind instruments found in a band and help them discover their natural aptitudes. (As a result, students are more likely to be successful when they begin studying an instrument in depth.) For general music classes, it can be used for rhythmic training or simple composition activities. It can help teach about the science of sound. A variety of special education applications could be devised. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination!
